Originally printed c. 1925 and designed by Oscar Rabe Hanson, this poster promoted travel on the South Shore Line railroad to the Northwestern Indiana Dunes along the shores of Lake Michigan. Depicting a peaceful illustration of a line of trees atop snow topped dunes in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, the area was renamed the Indiana Dunes National Park in 2019. It continues to be a popular destination in the Winter for Cross Country Skiing and in the summer for its beaches and boating. The South Shore Line continues to operate from Chicago's Randolph Street station to South Bend Indiana. Other posters in this series are available here.
