TANNHAUSER - poster by Lenica - 1971

Abstract figure in various shades of green and blue. Jan Lenica (4 January 1928, Poznan, Poland - 5 October 2001, Berlin) was a Polish graphic designer and cartoonist. From 1963 - 1986 he lived and worked in France. Around 1962 he started to make posters for the Warsaw Opera and embarked on the third stage of his poster design to develop his own, characteristic "handwriting". The Museum of Modern Art in NY has his stunning "Wozzeck" in their collection.
