Dubuffet, Retrospektive Exhibition Poster from the Akademie der Kunst Berlin, 1980

American flags are painted in creative ways, accompanying crudely drawn people for this poster advertising Dubuffet's 1980 exhibtion at the Akademie der Kunst Berlin. His idealistic approach to aesthetics embraced so called "low art" and eschewed traditional standards of beauty in favor of what he believed to be a more authentic and humanistic approach to image-making.
